The refresher training, available from 1st October 2024, will specifically reinforce the critical skills that door supervisors and security guards use to keep the public safe. This training is designed to enhance their ability to manage challenging situations, protect individuals, and ensure a secure environment.

Who Needs to Take the Refresher Courses?

The refresher courses will be mandatory for all security professionals holding an SIA license, regardless of their role. This includes those working in roles such as security guarding and door supervision. The courses must be completed as part of the renewal process for an SIA license.

Enrolment in the new SIA refresher courses will be available from 1st October 2024 through accredited training providers across the UK. Security professionals are encouraged to check the SIA’s official website for a list of approved providers and to book their courses in advance.
